Armadale Warriors

Club History

Armadale Rugby League Club entered the Western Australian competition in 1989, initially playing at Creyk Park under the Rabbitohs name. The club later became known as the Armadale Warriors and made Pries Park its long-term home, providing a rugby league base for players and families throughout Perth’s south-eastern corridor.

Armadale fielded first-grade teams at different stages during the 1990s and returned to the top grade in 2005. Recorded first-grade seasons include 1992, 1995, 1997, 1998 and 2005, with Armadale and Canning combining their senior resources during the 1997 season. The club enjoyed a particularly strong period in 2004 and 2005, achieving success across its men’s, women’s and junior teams.

The club did not field a senior men’s team in 2006, although its juniors and successful women’s side continued.

Committee members voted to amalgamate with the Canning Bulldogs. The combined organisation competed as Central Districts from 2007, ending Armadale’s separate Rabbitohs and Warriors chapter.

For almost two decades, the club gave Armadale its own place in Western Australian rugby league. Its Rabbitohs and Warriors identities, years at Pries Park and achievements across several grades remain an important part of the game’s history — a reminder of an area that could one day support a club again.
